Synopsis: Allie is devastated when her older sister commits suicide–and not just because she misses her. Allie feels betrayed. The two made a pact that they’d always be together, in life, and in death, but Leah broke her promise and Allie needs to know why.
Her parents hover. Her friends try to support her. And Nick, sweet Nick, keeps calling and flirting. Their sympathy only intensifies her grief.
But the more she clings to Leah, the more secretes surface. Allie’s not sure which is more distressing: discovering the truth behind her sister’s death or facing her new reality without her.
My Thoughts: From the moment I heard about this book, I knew it was going to be great! I found out it will be released in November, and I was bummed because that is just to far away! So recently when I joined Net Galley, and saw that an ARC was available for request, I freaked! I couldn’t request it fast enough! The Gods were on my side, and I was approved!!!!!!!! Yes, I actually got approved for a book that I really really REALLY wanted, and of course I had to read it right away!
The Sister Pact is a little slow in the beginning, but once you get into it, it’s hard to put down. This book has it all. Everything from sex, drugs, lies, cheating, and death. It’s very dark story, but well worth your time.
Allie and her sister Leah made a pact that they would always do everything together…Even die together. So when Leah commits suicide out of no where without her, Allie is devastated and left with one big question…Why?
Leah was having trouble with her parents at home, trouble with guys(like every other teenage girl ), and she even developed a drug problem which got her kicked off the dancing team. Some of those things might seem like small petty things that happen to almost everyone, but they aren’t when you are also dealing with depression. Having depression causes the smallest things to feel 100X worse. It looks like a lot of bad things were happening in Leah’s life, that Allie had no idea were going on.
The worst character would have to be Max. What was the point of him even coming around? He was no help at all during Allie’s troubling times. All he did was make things worse. He was a phony. Max could be with any girl he wanted/when he wanted, but as soon as anyone showed the tiniest bit of interest in Allie, here he comes talking about how much he loves her. Boy please! The worst part about it, is Allie just took it. For some reason she was obsessed with him even though he was always doing her dirty.
She needed someone in her life that would lift her up, and I thought it was going to be Nick, but at one point I lost that feeling. It’s like all everyone wanted to do in this book was have sex, cheat, and so drugs.
Even with all of the bad going in this book, it was still great! If you like a book filled with scandal and juicy secrets, this is for you! I’m glad I was able to get my hands on this ARC. I’ll most likely pick up a copy when it hits the shelves. I gave it 5 Stars.
