What Happened to Goodbye Book: What Happened To Goodbye by Sarah Dessen.

Synopsis: Since her parents’ bitter divorce, McLean and her dad, a restaurant consultant, have been on the move-four towns in two years. Estranged from her mother and her mother’s new family, McLean has followed her dad in leaving the unhappy past behind. And each new place gives her a chance to try out a new persona: from cheerleader to drama diva. But now, for the first time, McLean discovers a desire to stay in one place and just be herself, whoever that is. Perhaps Dave, the guy next door, can help her find out.

The Rules:

  1. Grab a book, any book.
  2. Turn to page 56 or 56% in you E-Reader. (If you have to improvise, that’s okay.)
  3. Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
  4. Post it.
  5. Add your URL post below in the Linky. (Add the post URL, not your blog URL.)

The 56:

“It’s fine,” my dad said easily. To me he added, “Mclean! I didn’t even know you were here. How was the rest of the day?”

Opal turned, looking at me, confused, and I suddenly remembered I’d told her my name was Liz. I swallowed, then said, “Okay, I guess.”

  1. Mclean?! That is SUCH a unique name, I can’t even…

I’ve been wanting to pick up more of Sarah Dessen–I’ve only read one of her novels so far! Maybe this will be the next one I try out; I just cannot get over her name, lol. I mean… I feel for the poor girl, really! Thanks so much for sharing!

Here is my Friday 56 if you’re interested in checking it out! No pressure or worries if you’re not, though. Happy book-ing to you in the near future, and happy Friday! Keep rockin’! ❤
