Gateway Books to Your Favorite Genre:

My favorite genre is YA Contemporary. I am trying to branch out
a little. But YA Contemporary will always be my #1! πŸ˜‰ Here are some
of my favorite YA books, that I think would be great for people
who are just getting started! πŸ˜€

339339
1.) The Nature of Jade by Deb Caletti.

This is the book that got me back into reading in high school. I’ve
read just about every Deb Caletti book, but this one is my favorite! πŸ˜€

21793514
2.) Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson.

Laurie has some great books out there, but this one just happens to
be my favorite! I think I’ve read this book about 10 times…No lie! I’m
gonna have to find my copy so I can give it a reread! πŸ˜€

3.) Just Listen or Lock & Key by Sarah Dessen.

Well, basically ANY Sarah Dessen book would be a great start.
She is an amazing storyteller, and I can’t wait to finish the rest
of her books. πŸ˜€Β

4.) The Sky Is Everywhere & I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson.
Jandy Nelson is one of my top favorite YA authors. Both of these
books are great. I especially love I’ll Give You The Sun, but both of
them are prefect of a YA beginner! πŸ™‚

5.) To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before & P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han.

These are both some sweet quick reads. Once I started I was hooked!
My favorite Character would have to be Kitty. She is a riot! Can’t wait until
I can get my hands on the next book (Always and Forever, Lara Jean)
in this Trilogy/Series. πŸ˜€ Aren’t ^those^ covers great!?

The cover for Always and Forever, Lara Jean, was revealed
some time last week! HERE IT IS!!!!! ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀

  1. You picked PERFECT books to get into YA Contemporary. I loved Catalyst too… but sometimes I feel like I’m the only one who’s ever read it. LOVE Laurie’s books though. And Sarah Dessen is a MUST!! AND I can’t wait for more Jandy Nelson. She needs to write faster πŸ™‚

  2. I still have to discover Sarah Dessen! I bought her book, This Lullaby, and I definitely need to make time to read it! I’ll keep Just Listen or Lock & Key in mind if I fall in love with This Lullaby. πŸ™‚

  3. Sarah Dessen can do no wrong… Well almost, I didn’t really like The Moon and More or What Happened to Goodbye, but she has provided me with so many life changing novels, I have no choice but to forgive her.
