Book: Stolen by Lucy Christopher.
Synopsis: Gemma, 16, is on layover at Bangkok Airport, en route with her parents to a vacation in Vietnam. She steps away for just a second, to get a cup of coffee. Ty – rugged, tan, too old, oddly familiar – pays for Gemma’s drink. And drugs it. They talk. Their hands touch. And before Gemma knows what’s happening, Ty takes her. Steals her away. The unknowing object of a long obsession, Gemma has been kidnapped by her stalker and brought to the desolate Australian Outback.
Stolen is her gripping story of survival, of how she has to come to terms with her living nightmare – or die trying to fight it.

The 56:
“It didn’t happen,” I said. My voice was shaky and soft, hardly there. “It isn’t true.” You reached across to me and grabbed my shoulder. I felt your fingers dig into my skin, forcing me to look at you. “It happened,” you said. Your face was set, your eyes unblinking. “It’s true. You just haven’t remembered it yet.” You stared hard at me, at my left eye and then my right. “But you will,” you whispered.

Haha it’s My Neighbor Totoro! 😀
Ooh noooo. How horrible…. Don’t want to be a hostage or what ever in the Australian outback….! Should I say hope you enjoy it or happy reading or does that make ME sound like a monster or something? Uhmmmm – go read your book and enjoy your weekend. How does that sound? Here’s my Friday Meets: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2016/09/friday-meets-another-one-down-drain.html
Haha It’s actually really good! Even the subject is terrible, the book was good. 😀
Very ominous and exciting! I’d read on!!
Happy Labor day weekend!
You too! 😀
This sounds good. The writing style makes it different too. I like it. Here’s Dead in the Water by Irna van Zyl, which I’ll be reading this weekend.
Okay, now I have to read this one, although I hate the idea of someone being drugged and kidnapped. Riveting, I’m sure.
Here’s mine: “I’VE GOT SAND IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES”
It’s a good one! 😀
Sounds like a scary story that could actually happen. I hope it has a satisfying ending!
My Friday post features BAREFOOT AT SUNSET.
Somehow I haven’t gotten to this one yet – some day!
Check out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).
This book! The author was brilliant at presently something that seemed so cut and dried and making it complex. I mean, kidnapper = bad guy, right? But I’d find myself going, OMG, I’m feeling sorry for Ty. WTH!
ME TOO! I don’t know what the hell she did to me, but I felt bad for him, then I hated him, then I felt bad for him, then hated him all over again!!! It was CRAZY!
I never knew there was a weekly meme like this! Interesting! & I’ve been meaning to pick up this book. 😀
You should! It was a good one! 😀
