4/7/2016: National Siblings Day is a few days away. Choose a book that has your favorite bookish siblings.
Even though the book I chose only has like 5 different covers (BOOO!) I have to go with it because it’s the only book with great siblings I can think of right now…And plus, I just LOVE the book so yeah..I gotta use it! Anyway, the siblings and the book I am talking about are Layla and Mac from Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen.
Usually in books, especially YA novels, sibling relationships are extreme. Either they hate each other, they are estranged or there is a huge disconnect in the relationship. But with the Chathams, that definitely wasn’t the case. Layla and her older brother Mac, where basically best friends. They even shared the same group of friends. They told each other everything, and spent almost all of their time together. Layla’s relationship with their older sister wasn’t exactly the same, but you could still feel that there was some closeness. We don’t know what their relationship was like before, but seeing how their family interact with each other, you can tell that is wasn’t always weird between them. Even thought Layla did have some reservations about her sister, at the same time she loved her unconditionally. Although she was disappointed in her, she excepted her, and who she was. Even if Layla didn’t agree with her life choices, she didn’t go out of her way to make her feel less than. You can read my review for Saint Anything, HERE.
United States Cover:
1.) UK 2.) Portuguese.
These are both so good, it’s hard to choose which one I like the most!
The colors on the Portuguese cover draws me in, and I just love the
carousel on the UK cover! IT’S A TIE!! 😀
Least Favorite Covers:
1.) Italian 2.) Swedish.
The Italian Cover is too plain, but I think my least favorite is
the Swedish cover. I just feel like it has nothing to do with
the book, and I just don’t really care for it.
That’s it for this week’s Book Traveling Thursday!
Who are some of your favorite Bookish Siblings?
Let me know down in the comments! 😀
