Believe it or not, I’m not really big on the whole social media gig, so I don’t really like this week’s topic, and I am going to switch it up and do one that I haven’t done before. 😀
Top Ten Books I Just HAD To Buy…But Are Still Sitting On My Bookshelf (3/1/11):
The saddest part, is that most of these have been sitting on my shelf for over a year. I still want to read them, but I always end up changing my mind, and picking something else up! That needs to STOP!! 😐
1.) Uganda Be Kidding Me – Chelsea Handler.
I can’t believe I’ve had this book on my shelf for TWO YEARS!?
What is wrong with me!? I’ve read and loved all of Chelsea Handler’s
and I think I read most of them in the same year…Maybe I just needed
a little break from memoirs or something, but I started to read this, then
something else I wanted to read came out and I put this down and never
picked it back up! I need to read this soon!
2.) Yes Please – Amy Poehler.
In October I will have had this book for TWO YEARS!! I was so excited when
this book came out, but then I never read it! I’ve heard so many good things
about it but never got to it. And again, I’ve heard so many good things.
Hopefully I will pick it up some time this year.
3.) Attachments – Rainbow Rowell.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m just in a YA kind of mood,
but I started this book, then put it down and haven’t picked it
back up since. I don’t know exactly how long I’ve heard this book,
but I know it’s been well over a year. Everyone is always going on
and on about Rainbow Rowell books, and this one seems like the
one for me. Hopefully I am right, and I’ll love it in the end.
All I have to do is read it!!
4.) Mr. Kiss And Tell – Rob Thomas & Jennifer Graham.
I should be ashamed of myself for this one! I searched high and low
for this book, and I was so pissed when I didn’t find a cheap copy at
Walmart. So I went ahead and payed full price for in at Barnes and Noble,
but did I sit down and read it right when I got home? NO! I LOVE Veronica
Mars, and I loved the first book. It’s hard to get into because I’m not a big
fan of books that are in third person, but I HAVE TO READ THIS!! Hopefully
I will get it down soon…I’m already ready for the third book, and I haven’t
read this one…I need to get my shit straight!!
5.) Rebel Belle – Rachel Hawkins.
To be honest, I don’t even know why I bought this book. It’s not something
I would usually go for, but I’ve heard so many great things about it. I don’t
know if I will ever read it, I might have to give it away! This May, I will
have had this book for a how year! I need to read it, or get rid of it…
I’ll probably get rid of it…Well…I’ll think about it!
6.) Vanishing Girls – Lauren Oliver.
I don’t know why it is taking me so long to pick this book up! I still want
to read it, but I guess other things keep coming out, and I’ve been
putting this book on the back burner. I’m gonna try and read
this book in April or May.
7.) Me Before You – Jojo Moyes.
I’ve had this book for like TWO YEARS!!! There’s even a second book,
AND A MOVIE!!! I’ve heard a lot of great things about this, and I’m
just ashamed, that I STILL haven’t read it!!!! That HAS to change
If it’s the last thing I do, I WILL READ THIS BOOK THIS YEAR!!!
8.) In Between Days – Andrew Porter.
This book kept calling to me. I saw it everywhere I turned. I haven’t
heard much about it from other’s, but something told me that I
HAD TO HAVE IT! When I finally gave in, and bought the eBook,
I thought I was going to read it right away, then I didn’t…I think
I’ve had this book for at least THREE YEARS! That is just crazy!
9.) Smashed: Story Of A Drunken Girlhood – Koren Zailckas.
I got this book back when I was on a Memoir induced coma. I only
wanted to read Memoirs! I think I got this before I bought Uganda
Be Kidding Me by Chelsea Handler, and after I bought both of them
I fell off of the Memoir ladder, and only wanted to read YA books.
Sadly, I actually don’t even know what happened to this book. For
all I know it could be in a trash can…Oops! 😐
10.) My Neighbor Totoro – Tsugiko Kubo.
I’ve watched this movie so many times, since I was a kid, and I
just LOVE IT!! I don’t know if I’ll ever stop loving it! 🙂 And I
don’t know if I’ll ever read this book, but it’s still nice to have. 😀
That’s it for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday!
What are some books you HAD to have, but still haven’t read?
Let me know down in the comments! 😀
*Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme
hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
The only ones I watch are SprinkleofGlitter and Zoella!
I use to watch them, but I got bored and stopped….
Yes Please by Amy Poehler was one of the first books I read this year and the first memoir I’ve ever read that wasn’t for school. I absolutely loved it! She is such an amazing person.
YESSSS read Me Before You! It was such a great book. I totally get buying a book and then it sits on your shelf lol. I have so many like that. Eep.
Attachments is my “that” book. I bought it and was planning to read it during winter but um didn’t happen.
All this cover beauty! I would have gotten them as well hahaha
Great list! I picked up “Yes Please” a couple months ago, because I JUST HAD TO GET IT! And I still haven’t picked the damn thing up. Oops! 😛
You totally dropped the ball waiting to read Me Before You! 😉 I’m so happy you loved it.
Attachments is sooooo good! My TTT
You should read Me Before You before the movie comes out!
Ps. don’t watch the movie trailer, too many spoilers.
I do this all the time. And I still can’t stop buying books. It’s getting ridiculous, really.
I do the same things – buy something I’m really excited for and then let it set because the next new shiny thing comes along or whatever.
well you’ve got some interesting sounding books up there but I haven’t read any of them either. I really want to though, like Me before you. Then I’ll wonder how I ever waited.
