My Thoughts: Growing up, I wanted nothing to do with Salsa or anything spicy for that matter. Now that I am older, my ways have changed, and I am now a little bit addicted to salsa and hot sauce! while looking on Blogging For Books, I came across Salsas and Moles by Deborah Schneider, and I asked myself, Do people really need a cookbook for something as simple as Salsa? With that question looming in my mind, I simply just moved on to the next book. Days after, when I was back on the site checking for newer books, which never seem to come, I saw this cookbook again, and something told me to just give it a try, so I did, and boy am I glad?
Salsas and Moles, is filled with many different Salsas for every taste. Not only do you get your simple/more traditional salsas, you get recipes for “taco salsas”, and even enchilada sauces. Every recipe is also paired with an bright, amazing, attention grabbing pictures that show you just what your salsa should look like in the end. If you know anything about me, pictures in cookbooks, are always a plus!
For someone who has never really worked with chilies, the The Essential Guide to Chilies, is a big help. I can’t wait to dive in and try my hand at some of these amazing Salsas. Although I just might be leaving the Moles, to the pros! 😐
The only negative thing about this cookbook, is its size. Then again, there’s not you can write about Salsa is there? I gave Salsas and Moles, 4.5 Stars.
I really want to learn how to perfect salsa before I move out of Southern California! 🙂 I LOVE LOVE LOVE salsa.
