Book Traveling Thursdays|Halloween.

BTT2016

This Weeks Theme:

10/29/2015: Halloween is only 2 days away! Choose a book that scared you.

I wouldn’t say that this book actually scared me, but it is really creepy. Just think, if this really happened to me in real life, then, I would be REALLY scared. I usually don’t read books like this but I really enjoyed the US movie when it came out, and after a Google search, I found out it was a book, so I HAD to read it. Recently, I watched the Swedish version, and I’m sorry to say, but I think I liked it better than the American version.

Original Cover:

United States Covers:

Favorite Covers:

1.) UK (?) English.
2.) German.
3.) Portuguese.
I really like the movie cover in Portuguese. I wish I had that Edition. I really like all of these, but I think I like the German one the best.

Least Favorite Covers:

1.) Dutch.
2.) Italian.
3.) US or UK English.
#1 just looks a little cheap and thrown together. #2 just looks odd and spooky. #3 doesn’t really look like it fits with the story. The story takes place in 1981 and the lady on the cover looks WAY older. I know she is a vampire so she could be from that time, but I don’t know…I just don’t think it fits.

  1. Wow, we actually picked the same book! Don’t think I’ve come across a non-Scandinavian person who’s read this yet. We have some similar opinions here. I almost picked that Portuguese cover as one of my favorites too but then I found a Thai one that used the same image with a little twist, and I loved that one even more. Here’s mine.
