Lola and The Boy Next Door Review.

Book: Lola and The Boy Next Door.

Written By: Stephanie Perkins.

Pages: 338.

Synopsis: (From Book) Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion…she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit, the more sparkly, more fun, more wild, the better. And life is pretty close to perfect in Lola’s world, especially with her hot rocker boyfriend. That is, until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood and unearth a past of hurt and anguish that Lola thought was long buried. When talented inventor Cricket steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

My Thoughts: I thought I was in love with Anna and The French Kiss, but I am IN. LOVE with this book! Don’t get me wrong, I still love Anna and The French Kiss but, Lola to me was soooo much…..I don’t know…. I don’t want to say “Better”…. I can’t even explain it right. The words aren’t forming in my head. I just REALLY enjoyed this book.

Like AATFK, the writing flowed so well and I never got lost or confused. It was such an easy read. It wasn’t what I first thought it was gonna be, It was much better. I like how she still included characters from Anna and The French Kiss in this book. Even though it just reminded me how much I didn’t really like St Clair (The boy is clingy). I’ll probably get a lot of flack for saying that because I know a lot of the ladies loved St. Clair….He just isn’t my cup of tea.

I feel like this books kinds shows what St. Clair was going through in AATFK. Only its Lola. Both her and St. Clair have feelings for one person while they are in a relationship with another. They both knew that their relationships weren’t working out but they still couldn’t find the heart to break them off. Its like they both knew that they weren’t meant to be with Max (Lola) or Ellie (St. Clair). They just had something to prove. To me, Lola felt like she needed to prove everyone wrong about Max even though she knew they were right. Deep down inside she really knew that Max was a douche but she didn’t want to be alone. I have more negative feelings towards St. Clair and his situation. I don’t know if its because he’s a guy or what. Maybe it was just how he handled it. He would be all up on Anna one minute, then the next he was like “I have a girlfriend.” And yeah, I know Lola also did that a few times but it wasn’t a constant thing. St. Clair wanted to have his cake and eat it too.

Can’t wait for Isla and The Happily Ever After.

Love love loved this book. I give it 5 Stars!
